These last couple of days at work have been kind of strange. They have been very stressful! Not to say that every day isn't, but somehow things have come upon me in a very sudden way. Allow me to explain.
I have worked for the Chicago Public Schools for the last 19 years. Over the years I have seen many things in regard to children behavior and how the age of innocence has taken a dive on a yearly basis.
For the last 11 years I have been involved with Special Education children. There are a diversity of needs that you could never imagine! Stories I don't have the time to tell you about and that most people probably wouldn't believe, except for those that are in the system.
On Tuesday one of the students tried to make me look bad with my coworkers and lied about something I had not allowed her to do. It wasn't such a big deal at the time because most of the teachers knew that this was something she did on a regular basis. So I didn't have anything to worry about in this case. Of course, I wasn't the only victim. She also lied about another coworker and when the dust cleared, the truth was known.
Then today, one of my boys went to a session with the school's social worker and complained that we didn't want to help him with his work and that I was always hitting him on the head! Of course that was a downright lie! Again, due to the reputation of this young boy, the social worker knew that he was fabricating this in order to make others feel sorry for him and in this way get out of the responsibility of doing his work. The possible problem here is that he could tell the same story to his mom or someone else, and then things can get complicated if he can get others to believe him. We are talking about 9 and 10 year olds here! Its amazing how deceitful some of these children can be at such a young age! And the fact that they know how to use it to their advantage! This is the generation that is currently being brought up! I shudder at the thought!
It seems to me that ever since I started this Blog, a new spiritual battle has begun! I know that our adversary, the Devil, is not too happy about this and will try anything to keep me off track . This can be very discouraging and stressful, but I know that God is very real and He will give me the strength to overcome any and all obstacles that might present themselves! I may be down at times, but I'm not out! We may fall down from time to time, but we get up! And not by our own strength, but through the strength of the Holy Spirit!
I ask only that you help me by keeping me in your prayers!
To God be the Glory, Honor and Praise Forever!! Amen!!
James
